.After being miserable in the craft fair tent last weekend, we were in the restaurant yesterday. What a difference being warm made. Customers lingered longer, one’s coffee didn’t turn instantly cold, and I wasn’t bundled up in my enormous down coat and gloves, although I did keep my hat with the faux fur pompom on all day because it’s fabulous. We’ll be back in the tent today as the restaurant is having a private event, but they promise we’ll be inside again tomorrow. I can live with that, especially since I’ll be doing the Holiday Market at The Commons next week before returning to the restaurant the following weekend.
In other news, I’m in a show that opens today at the AMZehnder Gallery in Wellfleet here on Cape Cod, and the show I mentioned a few weeks ago at the Maiden Lane Gallery in Kingston, New York is still on-going. I will also be in the upcoming show at The Commons that opens next Friday as well. So there is a lot going on, except for whatever reason, I can’t clean my house. I blame that on the Don’t Bend Over mandate in my post cataract surgery instructions. OK, I can tidy a bit and even sweep, but dealing with a dust pan without bending over is almost impossible.
But I digress. The sea monster commission piece is almost finished, it needs varnish and then it’s done. I haven’t shown it to the client yet, but I think he’ll be happy with the results. It occurred to me the other day that, except for Atticus, which I posted last week, all of the projects I’ve done since my solo show in September have been requested by other people. I need a little Me Time in the studio, once I clean it of course, but I feel a blue heron creeping up on me. Stay turned, it will be amazing.
