I’ve been sick as a dog this last week. Did a CoVid test which came back negative, but the symptoms sound like it might be. So I’m mostly in bed or bundled up on the sofa and miserable although the fever broke a few days ago. I have, however, been able to spend an hour or two a day in the studio, and this new cardinal, Esperanzo, is the result. I’m very happy with it, I only intended to do it to use for this year’s holiday card at the craft fair, but it is much better than that. It would make a good card, yes, but there’s a PAAM juried show coming up and I’m thinking of submitting it to that.
In other news, I sent five bird images to a curator for a group show she was putting together in Kingston NY with the idea she would only select one. As it turned out, she decided to use all of them. And I also submitted an owl piece to a gallery in Wellfleet here on the Cape, and it was accepted yesterday. Branching out apparently, was I not just writing about wanting to expand my horizons? I guess the Cosmos heard me.
