Postcards and Painting

September is almost upon us.

I’m late, I’m late - okay, I exaggerate but I’m hanging my show in eleven days and that takes priority over everything else. The postcards have gone out, today I got one back as undeliverable but the ones I sent to the UK have arrived. There’s still time for me to send you one if you want - just leave me your mailing address in Comments.

In the meantime, I have finished the painting I mentioned starting in my last post as well as a second one and am now working on a third. Not to get too deep into politics, OMG, the speeches Tuesday night, but I began the bird series immediately after the Trump inauguration because I was so upset. I meant to do a bald eagle but realized I didn’t really know what they looked like and practiced with hawks and crows until it became clear I was on to something big. I have continued the series during the Biden presidency because Trump has loomed large like an impending storm and although I’m hopeful again, I’m prepared for a massive dose of drama regardless of the election outcome.

But until then, I will just keep painting.
